Our Production Process
We closely monitor all aspects of manufacturing at our paper mills. Here’s an inside look:
- Raw Materials: Marathon® paper products are created using responsibly-sourced American timber such as Northern bleached softwood kraft pulp.
- Stock Preparation: The wood is processed into strong paper fibers. This involves pressing, filtering, and mixing the pulp.
- Sheet Forming: Next, the pulp moves onto the paper machine which flattens the fibers into paper sheets of exceptional thickness and absorbency.
- Finishing: The paper is wound into jumbo parent rolls and prepared for converting into the final consumer products.
- Converting: State-of-the-art equipment transforms the parent rolls into folded paper towels, perforated toilet paper, and creased napkins.
- Packaging: Each batch is carefully shrink-wrapped by machine to retain freshness and then sorted for shipping.
